"To surmount the situation of oppression, people must first critically recognize its causes, so that through transforming actions, they can create a new situation, one which makes possible the pursuit of a fuller humanity" (Freire, 2005, p. 47)
Artifacts: Pieces of evidence
The Ecuadorian song "Vasija de barro" is about the burial rituals our ancestors had, they buried their loved ones in clay pots. These clay pots also represented how a person evolves and is transformed in different moments of their lives.
These artifacts represent also my evolution and growth since this journey started. I have carefully chosen 6 artifacts from the four principle areas of educational competence. Two artifacts for Knowledge of Theory, two for Knowledge of Research, one for Professional Competencies and one for Instructional Competencies.
"Arcilla cosida y dura, alma de verdes collados,
Luz y sangre de mis gentes, sol de mis antepasados"
- Jorge Carrera
Listen to the song, in case you want to listen to it.
